Word Up

John 1:1,14 – “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. The Word became flesh and made His dwelling among us. We have seen His glory, the glory of the one and only Son from the Father, full of grace and truth.”

Many people today question the will of God concerning certain circumstances and situations in life. But you don’t have to look any farther than the life of Jesus to find the answer. Jesus Himself said, “Anyone who has seen me has seen the Father” (John 14:9). Everything that we need to know about God and His character can be seen in the life of Jesus. Unbelief is rooted in FEAR, which is from the devil. Any thought that denies that what Jesus lived, taught and modeled is God’s will for us today, is from the devil. Jesus never did anything outside of the will of God. Colossians 2:9 says “He was the fullness of God.” In other words, Jesus was the expression of the will of God for the earth. “Jesus anointed with the Holy Spirit and power went about DOING GOOD and HEALING ALL who were oppressed of the devil” (Acts 10:38). So, sickness is never the will of God – but rather of the devil. I simply define the Gospel like this, “If it’s good – it’s God (Psalm 136:1) if it’s bad – it’s the devil”(John 10:10). Jesus never contradicted the will of God.

The Word of God is eternal because Jesus is eternal. This simply means that the WORD is as relevant today as it was thousands of years ago. God’s Word contains the answers to all of life’s situations. Jesus said in Matthew 24:35, “that Heaven and earth (as we know it) will pass away, but HIS WORDS will never pass away”. Because God’s Word is eternal and has stood the test of time, we must accept and believe every Word. We do not have the right to pick and choose which parts we will believe and decide what is relevant for today. Since God’s Word is eternal, God in His infinite wisdom would never have written parts that aren’t relevant or needed for ALL generations.

In fact, if you study the Bible closely you will see that God has always been about the NEXT GENERATION. In our culture today that would mean the Millennial generation. David reminds us in Psalm 100:5, “for the Lord is good and His love endures forever; and His faithfulness continues to ALL generations.” He is faithful to always uphold His Word, to perform it and accomplish every Word of it in our lives. It is our responsibility to BELIEVE and obey every Word! Because only the Word we believe will actually work and manifest in our lives.

In Mark chapter nine-a father brought his demon-possessed son to the disciples to be delivered. To the father’s disappointment, the disciples did not help the boy. Jesus immediately identified the problem and said, “You unbelieving generation.” The devil is not just after people, he is after A GENERATION. He knows that if he can fill a generation with unbelief, he diminishes the presence and power of God on earth. Unfortunately, that is where we find much of the church in America today – unbelieving, powerless, compromising and without spiritual authority. Primarily from unbelief and selfishness, forgetting about the next generation. But Jesus gives us the answer in Mark 9:23. In the midst of an unbelieving generation, He tells us that ALL THINGS are possible for them who BELIEVES. Before we can help an unbelieving generation, we must first BELIEVE that God’s heart is after the NEXT GENERATION.

We must take every eternal Word from God and not allow the enemy to steal it from us. No matter what religion says or what your denomination says, NONE of God’s Word has passed away. NONE of God’s Word was only for the generation two thousand years ago. Jesus is the Word and He is the same yesterday, today and forever (Hebrews 13:8). Whatever the need in your life, find God’s Word for that situation and BELIEVE it, STAND on it, CONFESS it, DECLARE it, SHOUT it over your situation. Get BOLD about what you believe. ALL THINGS are possible to them that believe. Smith Wigglesworth said, “If you will shout you won’t doubt.” Jesus said in Matthew 11 that the Kingdom suffers because the enemy is violent and in order to take it back, we must become as violent (persistent) as the enemy. Today’s generation (millennials) are looking for people who truly believe – to the point that it is a consuming fire. Become consumed TODAY with God and His Word!

Today, my prayer for you is that you will stop accepting anything that doesn’t line up with the WORD OF GOD. That you will become consumed with God and HIS WORD – for they are the WORDS OF LIFE!

Pointing People to Jesus,
