Talk the Talk

Mark 11:23 – “For assuredly, I say to you, that whosoever says to this mountain (problem), be removed, and be cast into the sea; and does not doubt in his heart but believes that those things he says will be done, he will have whatever he says.”

Several years ago, I heard a minister teaching about faith, and he said something that got my attention. He said that one time as he was meditating on Mark 11:23, the Spirit of God spoke to his spirit and asked, “Did you notice that in Mark 11:23, Jesus talked about SAYING three times as much as He talked about believing?”

The minister said, “Apparently, we need to hear about the subject of SAYING three times more than we need to hear about the subject of believing. And if we’re having trouble in our faith walk, it is probably in what we are SAYING.”

You see, our living is a direct result of our words. Our lives today are a direct result of what we’ve been saying up until now. And what we say today is what we will be living in tomorrow.

So as someone once said, “If you don’t like what you are or what you have quit saying what you’re saying.”

This is not “mind over matter” or “mind science,” these are Bible truths. Hebrews 11:3 says, “Through faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God….” in other words by the words that God spoke.

How did God create the earth? By His words. “And God said, let there be light: and there was light” (Gen. 1:3). “And God said, let there be a firmament in the midst of the waters… (Gen. 1:6), and there was a firmament.” How did God cause these things to come to pass? By speaking – in faith.

We were created in the image and likeness of God meaning that we were created to live like God with an ability to create like Him. We create our destinies by the very words that come out of our mouths. If what you have is not what you want, then speak and keep speaking what you want. Stop speaking about what you have unless that’s what you want to continue. That’s what most people do. They keep speaking about how bad things are and about their natural situation instead of speaking what they truly want.

Doubt and unbelief are so easy to live by because the enemy of your soul and your natural situation will always accommodate your words. That’s the power of the words that come out of your mouth. Get your mouth straight and your life will get straightened out. James said “Anyone who is never at fault in what they say, saying what the Father says is perfect, is able to keep their whole body in check (healed)” James 3:2. If you need healing in your body, STOP speaking about how sick your body is and start speaking to your body what the Word of God says about your body.

Abraham was 100 years old and childless and his wife Sarah’s womb was dead, that was the natural condition. But for 25 years he had been calling himself “the father of many nations.” For 25 years he had been “calling those things that be not as though they were” (Romans 4:17). Abraham kept speaking what he wanted not what he had. And at 100 years old Isaac was born. That is the answer to every situation that is happening in our lives. Keep speaking what God has said about it. I daily have Confessions of Faith that I speak out loud about my body, about my finances, and about my calling. I encourage you to do the same, find at least 2 or 3 scriptures about your health, your finances and your calling and speak them out loud every day. I guarantee you, your life will change. It’s impossible for the Word of God not to produce.

How do we live in faith? We must believe and say (Romans 10:9,10). What we believe and what we say will ultimately determine who we will be and what we will have in life. Check out what you are speaking and make the corrections where necessary and you will see your life take on the direction of God for your life.

My prayer for you today is that you will cut off all words of doubt and unbelief and begin speaking words of life and abundance.
